It's a GIRL

For those of you who do not know Jason and I and having another baby and it's a GIRL! Her name is going to be Jordyn Ann Sydenham. We are excited, and stressed at the same time, for her to come. At 20 weeks we found out that she has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, which means that she doesn't have the left half of her heart. When they first told us, all we could do was cry. We did not understand what this meant and how she was going to be ok. Then they sent us down to Primary Children's Hospital. They ran more tests on me and her. Then they tried to tell us what they were going to have to do. She is going to have what is called the Norwood Procedure (you can look up what they do during the surgeries because i don't really get it), which is three open heart surgeries. The first one she will have within a week of her being born. Another 3-6 months later, and finally between 2-4 years old.

Right now there are a lot of questions that we have that no one can answer. They have not been doing these surgeries long enough to know how her life will be or how long it will be. They cannot even tell us when we can bring her home. The Dr. told us that hopefully she only has to be in the hospital for a month after her first surgery. I just hope we are home for Christmas We do know that the first surgery is the hardest and it gets easier after that. While she is inside me she is ok and is growing just like any other baby. The only things that have changed are i go to the Dr. A LOT more, and they are going to have to take her between 38-39 weeks. They do this because there is a chance that she might stop growing when she hits a certain weight, because her heart wont be able to get her any bigger. Also they want my delivery to be scheduled because all of mine and Jordyn's Drs have to be there. I am going to have her at the U of U so they can take her right over to Primary Children's.

All we can do right now is remember how blessed we are. I don't know what we would do without all the people that love us. I am so thankful that we have great family and friends that are so willing to help us in any way that we need. I know that when Jordyn is born that Miles and Tyson will have a lot of people that love them and will help take care of them. We are blessed to live in Utah where there is a Hospital that knows how to take care of her and will do all that they can to give her a good life. I know it will be a blessing in my family's life, and many others, to have Jordyn in it. She is our angel and we will love every minute we get to spend with her and hopefully it will be a lot. Thank you for all your prayers and love.
