Tuesday evening at 6:42pm, we were blessed to welcome Tyson Neil Sydenham to our family. He weighed 8 lb 11 oz and was 19 inches long. He also has some very blond hair and is a precious gift from Heaven to us and everyone else. Jessica went in to labor on Tuesday morning around 5:00. She had been on the couch most of the night and came up around 7:15 to tell me that I was not going to Chicago that afternoon...we would be having a baby instead. The labor went well. She got her epidural and cruised until the last two minutes of the delivery when some intense pain found her and attacked! She did great though and Tyson was born without incident. He did need the vacuum to be put on his noggin because he was positioned a little weird. Anyhow, we are happy, Miles just loves his little brother and is going to be fun to try and keep from hurting the baby with his 'love'.

FINALLY! This new post brings news of much excitement and anticipation for myself along with many others. Our Christmas lights are now officially on and we had the lighting ceremony on Monday. Click this link to be taken to my other blog which has the videos of the lights. Hope this adds to your enjoyment of this 2009 holiday season!

Halloween! This is a night time picture of our house with the sweet shadows cast...
We carved pumpkins a week ago. The one on the left is Jessica's and the middle one is mine.
Here's Miles in his awesome dog costume...
...and me with Miles. I was NOT Nacho Libre (because I HATED that movie), but a Mexican Luchador (wrestler). I found this mask while walking through a street fair in Encinitas, California earlier this year and thought it would be a sick costume.

Update...Finally, right?! So this is the Halloween display in my front yard. At night it is lit up by a spotlight which casts a large shadow on the house which is pretty sweet.
This is a typical scene of Miles getting in to a drawer he probably shouldn't be in. He loves getting in drawers and finding fun things to take out and play with.

Last weekend Jessica and I were in Vegas and we were able to see Mystere on Saturday night. So amazing. We also got to go shopping and to dinner with Chris and Sara.
Now...Here are some more recent photos of our incredible little man...
He is so fun to hang with! Just look at that face and those eyes!
I don't know why we have toys because most of the time he just gets in the drawers in the kitchen and plays with spatulas, tongs, spoons, apple slicers (ouch) and whatever else he can get his hands on!
The boy can eat! Typical breakfast: whole banana and 1 or 2 Eggos with milk to wash it down.

Miles loves diggin' in the sand! His first trip to Lake Tahoe 'live', (last year he was 1 month from being born).

It has been 2 months since our last post so I thought I would update things a little bit. Here are some pics of Miles' first birthday party. He had a blast and we did too!

Does anyone remember when Miles was this big? Hard to...

This is our latest news...Miles is going to be a brother in February (the 8th if all goes perfectly). Jessica put this shirt on Miles one day when I got home from work and I was so confused why she changed him in to such a big shirt until I read it...We're very stoked!

We took Miles to Pineview on Saturday. He loves the water and at this point he was getting a bit tired but was having a blast!
Sara and Amanda were here this weekend and just left today. Miles and Logan became great friends over the past couple days. It was pretty funny to watch them play together!
My mom and dad were here two weeks ago for the 4th of July and this is an early birthday present for Miles. As you can see he really likes his new car!
4th of July parade in Layton.

A few weeks ago we went camping at a place called Smith and Morehouse. It was a blast. Miles did great! It rained on us a lot but we managed to stay dry at night. We had a great time. I got to use my updated 'camping box' so I was pretty stoked about that. If anyone needs a list of items to put in a camping box, let me know.

Miles loves his jumper so much he can't stand it!  Totally out of context of our pictures, Miles really missed us while we were gone.  When we got home he was so excited to see us.  He would hug Jess then reach for me then reach for Jess and on and on.  He was so cute and still is.   He is getting more and more teeth.  There are 5 that have broken through or are in but there are another 3 or 4 that are coming.  He's just growing up too fast!

Jessica and I returned last Thursday from a week in Hawaii.  It was off tha hook!  We spent 5 days on Maui and 2 days on Oahu.  The pictures below depict our life for the 7 days we were gone.  Lots of beach time, snorkeling, great food and hanging out.  We missed Miles a ton though.  He stayed with Grandma and Grandpa so we're thankful for that.

This picture is us on a snorkeling trip.  We went out about 1 hr from shore to Molokini Crater then back to a place they label 'turtle town' and we got to swim with some big sea turtles.  Pretty sweet!

THIS YEAR....My lawn is doing very well.  I'd have to say I have one of the greenest lawns in the neighborhood.  There are still some bald spots that need to fill in but for the most part we're doing very well.
LAST YEAR...

So we went to Zion National Park a couple weeks ago for a work conference. We took Miles, hiked it, liked it, and Miles was a trooper. He didn't complain at all! It was nice...The next weekend we ended up without Miles for the weekend, in the San Diego area with our friends Matt and Brooke. It was a nice, relaxing weekend. We did a lot of jumping on the beach, hanging out, eating great food at some local joints, and enjoying So Cal at its best. We also survived without Miles for 3 whole nights and he did wonderfully without us...While in San Diego we got to witness the Grunion run on the beach at high tide when the moon is out. If you want to check it out, it is truly an amazing sight!

We love dinner time!
This one's more his size...
Miles is gonna be a baller when he grows in to the ball!
Great-Grandpa, Grandpa, Dad, Miles...

St. Patrick's Day...Miles had slobber all over himself...We think he's getting more teeth...
Cute cousins...
This is Miles and his friend Colten Freeman from Reno, NV.
While we were in Reno last weekend, I dragged my BFF Matt Freeman up to hit the slopes at Alpine Meadows.  You can see Tahoe in the background and it was gorgeous and fun!
